Soggy Two Weeks for Illinois?

The NWS released their latest Quantitative Precipitation Forecast (QPF) out to 7 days. It shows Illinois with potential amounts of 0.75 inches (blue) to 2.5 inches (purple). Also their 8 to 14 day forecast shows Illinois with an increased chance of wetter than normal conditions (second map).

  1. That would be pretty typical for my location, South of Springfield. We dry out in April, get wet in May and then dry out again in June. If the farmers don’t get their crops in before Mid-May, they don’t get them in until June. We haven’t had any really heavy rains, so far this year.
